My portfolio mainly contains 3d animation work samples but also some 2d content. If you click on one of the headlines you will be able to browse through a related gallery including concept art, preproduction images, stills and more.
This is my latest demoreel... and to be honest my first one, too. It contains work samples from 2006 until spring 2008 and was basically knocked up for my internship application in summer 2008. States of Convergence is a short film imagining the future of Sydney in the year of 2050.
It was created by the Vector Guerrillas, a group of Architects and Animators at University of Technology, Sydney where I was able to participate in this project in the fields of modelling, animations and simulations.
Anthony Burke and Joanne Jakovich, the driving forces behind this project, introduced the film at the Critical Visions 2008 (CV08) conference of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) with the following words:

This is a trailer for the e Clips film festival that will be arranged by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Hanover and the University of Applied Sciences, Kaiserslautern.
This event will take place at the UNION Theater, Kaiserslautern and the Design Center (Expo Plaza), Hanover in April 2008. It will show digitally produced movies from students of these two institutions. The students were also assigned to create trailers for this festival so this is the version of Manuel Ritter and me.

Eduard is a springnewt. Springnewts typically live in wetlands, rivers or lakes. Eduard does not.
He finds his kind silly and fears water in general. That is why he retired to an arid environment in the valley of Istzizhi.
A couple of weeks ago a bunch of akin grubnewts also settled down there who are now disturbing his dry ease heavily for they immediately eroded the nearest embankment dam. The consequence was that Eduards beloved arid environment turned into a swamp.
Provided with professional equipment he now plans to defy the odds.

'Catwalk - Black Cat Crossing' is a humorous animated short film that takes the viewer into a lovely and detailed designed comic city. There he is going to witness a row of odd incidents that are obviously related to Matilda, a quite inconspicuous old lady.

This animation is based on the german phrase 'In der Not frisst der Teufel fliegen'. If you would translate it word by word it would be something like 'In times of starvation the devil devours flys' in English. So it means 'beggars can't be chosers' but that goes too far for this animation. It's just about a fly and a devil.
