Hello! My name is Marian Sander and I am the author of this website.

If you want to get a short overview on what happened so far in the past 22 years of my life - congratulations, you found the right page!

I was born Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany on June 24^th, 1986. Since then I dwelled in a rather small town called Alfeld for the most time where I also passed the German ‘Abitur’ (=German university entrance qualification) in 2005.

Since winter semester 2006 I study Communications Design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Hanover (Fachhochschule Hannover) with a strong focus on computer animation. Character design aroused my interest in particular. The possibility to create personalities that can touch people emotionally, express the most complex circumstances and tell their own little stories just by their appearance elates me. From February to July 2008 I went in Australia for a semester abroad at  University of Technology, Sydney. This is probably the main reason why I finally decided to put this website online. It was a lot of fun to be blogging from the opposite side of the word, providing friends, family and fellow students with hopefully interesting experiences and some photos. ;)

Currently I’m doing an internship over six month at Ambient Entertainment in Hanover where I got the opportunity to work on an upcoming computer animated feature film called ‘Die Konferenz der Tiere’ (English Title: ‘Animals United’).

Beside studies I also work for the biotech company 5 PRIME where I am creating some graphics and design solutions.

Finally I just want to add a few words about the way the work samples on this website were created. As I am focussing on 3D Computer Animation I am obviously using digital tools and computer programs a lot. Many work samples that can be found in my portfolio are mainly created with Autodesk Maya, but I also love to work with my Wacom Intous 2 tablet in conjunction with Adobe Photoshop. I have also gathered some experience in Autodesk Mudbox, Pixelogic Zbrush, Discreet Combustion and Adobe After Effects.
